Listen to the truth about gentrification; it’s genocide. Candidate for mayor of St. Pete, Jesse Nevel, Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement speaking at “Meet the Candidates” event at the InPDUM Sunday Resistance Rally.
St. Petersburg, like so many U.S. cities, has a contemptible history of anti-African policies from public lynchings to continued police murders of African teens, to the ongoing gentrification of African neighborhoods. Listen to Jesse tell the truth about the status quo, and how the corruption can be overturned! Jesse describes the oppression happening to the black community in St. Pete, and ties this into the overall oppression of Africans which is ongoing in the U.S. and around the world.
Eritha Akile Cainion, the next District 6 City Councilwoman, spoke at the Rally as well, telling the audience: “Right here in the city of St. Pete, with these two campaigns we have the ability to be the model city for what is possible throughout this entire country!”
Jesse & Akile’s campaign; a model for cities world-wide!
