Nothing says “I Love You” like… a blood diamond?  St Pete Event Exposes Genocidal Diamond Trade!

On February 17th, Wednesday, 7pm to 9pm at Akwaaba Hall, 1245StPeteBloodDiamondsPosterHTML   18th Ave S., in St. Petersburg, Florida, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement is holding a special event called “All Diamonds Are Blood Diamonds” to address the theft of diamonds and exploitation of African labor that serve as a bloody, brutal backdrop to the annual romantic Valentine’s celebrations in European and North American communities.

USM is the organization of white people working under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party to build a movement for white reparations to African people.

This dynamic, free event will feature two guest speakers who are experts on this topic and advocates for reparations.

Ona Zene Yeshitela, the Deputy Chair of the African People’s Socialist Party who has traveled to Africa and throughout the world to build an independent African economy, will speak on the history and future of African people’s struggle to reclaim their own resources as the birthright of African people everywhere.

Penny Hess, the Chair of the African People’s Solidarity Committee and author of “All Diamonds Are Blood DIamonds”, will present on the history of the diamond trade, the relationship between Euro-American affluence and African impoverishment, and the campaign to build a movement for reparations to African people from corporations and white citizens alike.

The event will feature a screening of a brief documentary showing the brutal conditions of Africans in Sierra Leone, narrated by Fenty Tholley, the Chair of the African People’s Socialist Party-Sierra Leone.

“All Diamonds Are Blood Diamonds” will kick off with a theatrical performance art piece called “My Bloody Valentine,” a one-act play that satirizes the false romantic cover-up of the West’s brutal extraction of African diamonds.
