Reparations Challenge: Yoga & Indian Classical Music for Peace

Ghimel Alvarado is taking the Reparations Challenge!

Join us on Saturday September 5th from 7:00-10:00PM for a Yoga, Kirtan and Indian Sitar Music event at Peace of Yoga in downtown St. Pete!

Yoga and Kirtan chanting will be held to make sacred space in downtown St. Petersburg.

We will be initiating the evening with a light group Hatha yoga flow for practitioners and curious aspirants of all ages to participate led by certified Yoga teacher, Reiki Master and practitioner Chloé Marie.

Chloe is Hatha Yoga Certified and received her certificate from The Tampa Yoga Loft R-YTT200 in 2014 and has since been a full time teacher as well as a Reiki healing Master level practitioner.

Following the group yoga we will take a comfortable seat and begin the practice of Bhakti Yoga with our delightful musicians through the art of singing Indian classical music in the form of Kirtan.

Kirtan is the chanting of ancient mantras accompanied by musical instruments and specially trained singers and is driven in a call and response action calling for crowd participation to raise the frequency level of all attendees to a higher state of consciousness through the chanting of yogic mantras.

Kirtan elevates the mind effortlessly bringing one to a state of meditation to provide internal peace, tranquility, chakra alignment and healing to the practitioners involved.

The Kirtan artist line up will be as follows:

Jai Ananda – Orlando
Public Sunshine – Orlando

The headliner act will be hindustani Indian classical disciples of Guruji Nandkishor Muley from Orlando, FL:

Including Sitar player Ben Tiptonford, Tabla player Sankalp Goberdhan and Violinist Pratyush Goberdhan.

We will conclude the evening with a guided meditation for world peace led by local energy healer and Reiki Master level practitioner Kat Von Frenck.
