There is a gold-plated pipeline leading from the livelihood of African communities right into the bloated pockets of the white ruling class.
While Africans and other colonized communities have been economically emaciated, literally starving and dying from Covid-19, millionaires have become billionaires and billionaires have collectively become $637 billion richer.
As the U.S. president and local governments have begun reopening the white-run capitalist economy, Africans are suffering the most from what the leader of the African People’s Socialist Party, Chairman Omali Yeshitela calls the “colonialvirus”.
The American Public Research Lab has found that “the latest overall COVID-19 mortality rate for black Americans is 2.4 times as high as the rate for whites”.
This is not a result of systemic racism or racial inequalities; it is the direct result of colonialism which has taken away the power that Africans have over their own livelihood.
The white colonial system has stripped the African community of their resources, exposing wounds of homelessness, a lack in healthcare, limited access to nutritious foods and the continual dependency on the white ruling class.
Colonialism is the disease
The American Medical Association blames the colonialvirus’s effects on “Preexisting conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity that disproportionately impact the African American community.”
The pre-existing conditions themselves are the result of colonialism!
Africans were stolen from their Motherland, forced into free labor which was used to birth the white settler colony into the ruling class.
They were then sucked dry of their resources and spit back out with nothing: absent of proper healthcare and education, absent of affordable housing (if any at all), absent of money for healthy foods, diminished of their power and left with only crumbs that slipped through the hands of the white ruling class.
The blood of Africans is on the hands of the banks and in the pockets of the rich
The Small Business Association’s (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program claimed it was “…a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll”, as stated on the SBA’s government site.
The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was made, according to bourgeois media, “to help… prevent mass layoffs across the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.”
Forty-one percent of black business owners had to either close their doors or lay off employees who were already living paycheck to paycheck.
It is estimated that 95 percent of these businesses were ineligible for the government-assisted loan because they failed to meet the requirement of having employees.
Instead of helping the businesses that were hit hardest by the colonialvirus—black and brown-owned businesses—the U.S. government actually allotted $243.4 million of the total $349 billion of the PPP funds to large companies that already had a market value of well over $100 million.
These large corporations were not only able to maintain business as usual but they gained wealth and market value exponentially, thanks to the stolen African money earmarked by the SBA.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos nearly doubled his wealth during the height of the colonialvirus, including one single day in which he made $13 billion. While the average African family in some cities lives off of five dollars a day.
The disproportionate distribution of resources is atrocious.
The government and the white ruling class continue to stomp on the backs of Africans and other colonized people as they climb their way up the money ladder.
This savage colonial-capitalist system is a shameless self-serving cycle.
We must return stolen resources and power back to the African community and support the paradigm of African self-determination.
We must pay reparations to the Black Power Blueprint.
