Uhuru Solidarity Movement denounces the latest violent, murderous colonial assault on African people in the U.S., the massacre in Buffalo, NY where a white nationalist murderer shot 13 mostly African people, with 10 people dead. Whether it is police murders, or slaughter by white citizens, mass imprisonment, poverty, or food deserts, African people in the US are facing colonialism. It is one continuous history of violence and oppression, from the kidnapping and enslavement of African people, to lynchings, convict leasing, burnings and massacres such as in Tulsa, Oklahoma. African people face violence and oppression everyday. Now is the time for white people to get off the sidelines and take a stand. Take action and join in solidarity with the African community’s demand for reparations and power in their own hands. As Chairman Yeshitela teaches, this is more than “racism,” or the ideas in the minds of white people. When colonialism is destroyed and African people have power, the “racist” thoughts of individuals like the 18-year-old murderer in Buffalo will be irrelevant because they will not be able to act upon their thoughts by harming any African person. Colonialism exists inside the borders of the U.S. Like the murders of George Floyd, Mike Brown, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and thousands of other Africans killed by police and white nationalist vigilantes everyday, the murderous violence of the Buffalo shooter is the product of a colonial system built on stolen lives, land and labor. In Buffalo, NY alone, the conditions of African people are representative of the colonial hell in which African and oppressed peoples are forced to live within this parasitic system. Over 35 percent of African people in Buffalo live below the poverty line. Africans in Buffalo face deep colonial disparities in healthcare, employment, and housing. White violence, murder, and terror against African people is built into the colonial mode of production itself. The U.S. was built on the enslavement of African people, the genocide against the Indigenous people of the Americas and theft of their land. Reparations are owed to African people for hundreds of years of oppression, exploitation and violence. All white people who are outraged and sickened by this latest act of white nationalist terror against the African community: Join organization under the leadership of the African working class, who are fighting to destroy the innately violent colonial mode of production built on their enslavement and exploitation. Uhuru Solidarity Movement is the organization of white people, under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, working in the white community for reparations to African people. Join the Uhuru Solidarity Movement to stand in principled unity with the African community-led struggle for liberation, self-determination and reparations.
No more colonial violence in our name! No more genocide in our name! Reparations Now!
