On February 21, 1965, Malcolm X was assassinated by the U.S. government as part of the counterinsurgency war to crush the Black Revolution of the 1960s. Malcolm X was a profound revolutionary African leader who fought for self-determination and power for African people. The African People’s Socialist Party continues the legacy of Malcolm X, bringing the struggle for Black Power into the 21st century. Akilé Anai of the African People’s Socialist Party and Penny Hess, Chair of the African People’s Solidarity Committee will be speaking on the life and death of Malcolm X. We will also be showing video clips of Malcolm’s most influential speeches.
