The truth about the so-called “holiday” Thanksgiving will be exposed for what it really represents; a colonial holiday that celebrates a system born from the genocide, rape and theft of land from the Indigenous peoples of North America by white European colonial settlers as well as the enslavement, exploitation and murder of African people.
This is a call to action to reject holiday consumerism and to instead invest in concrete, positive programs of black economic development and self-determination known as the Black Power Blueprint.
Penny Hess, Chair of the African People’s Solidarity Committee and Jesse Nevel, Chair of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, will speak on the role and responsibility of white people to pay reparations to the Black Power Blueprint.
