Uhuru Solidarity Movement’s 2018 National Convention, “White Solidarity with Black Power: Unity Through Reparations!” will take place on April 14th ~ 15th at Akwaaba Hall in the new Uhuru House in St. Louis, Missouri.
There is no better time or place to hold this convention, to win the masses of white people to see the only future for us is in solidarity with African liberation which we can directly participate in through organizing under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party for white reparations to African people.
This will be a weekend filled with essential political education and mobilizing, informative workshops on building a culture of Unity Through Reparations in your community, and white solidarity with Black Power!
The Uhuru Solidarity Movement National Convention is its highest body, meeting annually when members and leaders of USM nationally gather for two days for presentations giving political direction on the work of USM from the leadership of the Party, Chairman Omali Yeshitela, and the leadership of APSC, Chairwoman Penny Hess, as well as USM leadership, National Chair Jesse Nevel and the National Steering Committee. It is where the National Steering Committee reports to the general membership and where the branch leaders report as well. It is where the NSC is elected and the Chair is appointed by APSC with approval from the Party. It is where the primary political campaigns are presented and unity is won from the membership to carry out the upcoming year’s work of white reparations to African people.
This year the convention will take place in St. Louis, Missouri, the burgeoning second headquarters of the African People’s Socialist Party. This is the first time since 2012 that the convention has relocated from its usual host city of St. Petersburg, Florida. The designation of St. Louis is based on the fact that in the past years since Ferguson, the Party has built dual and contending economic power, along with political organization, fighting for African self-determination resulting in the Black Power Blueprint project. The white population is wide open to being organized by USM and has nowhere else to turn but into the insidious, slimy embrace of the opportunist white left that co-opts the righteous struggle of African people to build their own liberal white agenda. The presence of a USM organizer in St. Louis has already made waves on the political landscape there and the makings of a branch are already in the works.
Registration is open to members and non-members alike; anyone interested in learning more about building a Culture of Reparations in the white community and standing in principled, material solidarity with Black Power and African liberation is welcome and encouraged to attend!
