Date: October 26, 2017
Subject: Protocol for hostile force, LANCE CARRICO
Below is a memo distributed by the National Steering Committee of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement to our general membership and supporters:
We are hereby informing all members and supporters that Lance Prentice Carrico, a FORMER member of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, is a hostile anti-Party force who is strongly suspected of being a police agent sent into our ranks to subvert and disrupt the work of the African People’s Socialist Party and to wage attacks against the African community.
Carrico is a white man living in St. Petersburg, Florida who joined the electoral campaigns of Akilé Anai and Jesse Nevel, before volunteering to join the Executive Committee of a newly formed local organization led by Anai, Communities United for Reparations and Economic Development (CURED).
He has been expelled from the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and is no longer affiliated with CURED in any way whatsoever. He is operating a fake social media account and posing as a representative of the organization.
Carrico is affiliated with a group called “The Communist League of St. Petersburg Florida” as well as “The League of Struggle for the Emancipation of the Working Class,” two fake political organizations that appear to exist primarily on the internet and which Carrico is using to attempt to undermine the work of the APSP.
Carrico has initiated a sustained campaign of online slander against the Uhuru Movement, and in particular, against Akilé Anai, a 21-year-old black woman who is widely beloved in St. Petersburg for her work on behalf of the black working class community. Akile is best known for her work defending the families of three teenaged girls who were murdered by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department last year.
The white man, Carrico, has cyber-stalked and harassed Anai with a barrage of aggressive and threatening text messages, Facebook messages, and emails.
Carrico has made it his “personal mission” (his own words) to disrupt the work of CURED. He posed as a representative of CURED and reached out to local candidates to discourage them from attending the CURED candidate’s forum scheduled for October 30th.
Most recently, Carrico logged into one of our websites and posted messages such as “The Pigs Are Gonna Get Ya” directed towards Akile and the African community.
ALL ARE URGED TO BLOCK CARRICO AND HIS FAKE CURED ACCOUNT, LINKED HERE: https://twitter.com/curedstpete
Below is a picture of Carrico and his mug shot. Carrico was arrested in 2013 for carrying a firearm. Based on this fact, combined with his deep political hostility towards the African working class, he is considered a security threat and should be treated as such.
It is time for all members and supporters to stand strong and defend the African community’s right to self-determination, to lead their own struggle for freedom, independence and reparations.
We take responsibility as USM, as the defense line between white nationalist attacks from our community that Carrico represents, We will not stand by. We demand these police attacks stop now.
If you encounter Carrico online:
-Block him or his fake accounts
-Report any attempts by Carrico in communicating with you or anyone you know: email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
-Do Not Engage. Repeat: DO NOT ENGAGE.
All white people who stand on the side of justice and reparations to the African community: join the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, organized under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, working in the white community to build material solidarity with African self-determination. USM organizes in solidarity with a world-wide African working class-led movement that is building tangible economic development projects to forward a strategy for the total liberation and unification of Africa and African people everywhere.
Join Communities United for Reparations and Economic Development (CURED) and build a progressive agenda with reparations in the center.
