8.5X11 organic cotton linocut print, multi-colored

This limited edition print is inspired by Omali Yeshitela, founder of the Uhuru Movement and chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party. The image recognizes his historical importance in shaping African Internationalism, and how instrumental his leadership is to African liberation. The funds raised go towards Kefira Baron’s Reparations Challenge with a goal of raising at least $300. Each print will be slightly unique as it is hand-pressed, and will part of a limited edition series- *only 20 prints will be created*. Guarantee you can own one of these prints by pre-ordering!

Statement from the artist:
“Omali Yeshitela formed the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, which organizes under the African People’s Socialist Party, and which I am part of. I chose to start off a print series I will be doing by beginning with the Chairman because I am forever grateful that he recognized that there are white people who genuinely want to be on the right side of history and want to join in the rest of humanity in creating a new future. I could not be who I am today without my dedication to supporting reparations; I understand the world in a different way because of African Internationalism. However, I also recognize that beyond understanding the theory I aim to put into practice because I don’t create art to be rich in the same white parasitic fashion that most artists do- that’s why these prints solely go towards reparations and they are also affordable because I want people to easily collect art that reflects their own support of solidarity & reparations.”
