Comrade Jackson leads the Burning Spear Study from July 1st, 2017. Each Saturday at 6 PM EST, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement will host a new Burning Spear study. The Burning Spear Newspaper is the official organ of the African People’s Socialist Party, and the oldest Black Power newspaper in continuous publication. Jackson leads a study on the article “Behind the Facade of Sunny St. Pete,” written by Penny Hess of the African People’s Solidarity Committee.
The campaigns of Eritha Akile Cainion, candidate for District 6 City Council, and Jesse Nevel, candidate for mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida, are challenging the status quo; unprecedented campaigns addressing the root of the problems facing the African community and the working poor. Taking on gentrification and supporting Black Community Control of Police, and #Reparations to the African community.
