A Call for the International Conference of the African People’s Solidarity Committee
under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party
January 6-8, 2013, St Petersburg, FL
The 2013 international conference of the African People’s Solidarity Committee (APSC) takes place during one of the greatest periods of social and political transformations in history.
Six hundred years of parasitic capitalism built and maintained through Europe’s assault, enslavement, genocide, plunder and occupation against African people and the majority of the world are coming to an end.
All over the globe those who have lived under the brutal grip of imperialism for centuries are exuberantly rising up to reclaim their land, resources, culture and self-government.
As a result the system of parasitic capitalism and white power is weak and in rapid decline.
Every day we see new signs of crisis: economic collapse, increasing imperial wars, societal breakdown, growing movements of resistance striking out against the status quo on all fronts.
The imperialist ruling class can no longer rule in the same old way. Violent repression and degrading colonial domination can no longer produce imperialist peace with subservient victims.
The vast mass of struggling humanity, those who were once what African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) Chairman Omali Yeshitela calls the “objects of history” are now standing up powerfully as history’s subjects, changing forever the political landscape everywhere.
The crisis of imperialism: a cause for celebration
Imperialism is in its death crisis. For most of humanity this is a cause for great celebration—in Venezuela, Bolivia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Occupied Palestine, Somalia and so many other places.
For North Americans or Europeans, Israelis, or whites in South Africa, who have been imperialism’s beneficiaries, gaining our opportunities, rights and prosperity from colonial plunder, slavery and war for so long, we find that everything we took for granted about the past and the future is wrong.
This is a prospect that may bring fear, anxiety and foreboding.
The solution for this is not found in mood-altering drugs, survival skills or collections of weapons.
Imperialism’s crisis need not be our crisis.
The solution is found in abandoning our allegiance to the sinking ship of imperialism and joining in solidarity with the struggles of African and oppressed peoples everywhere.
We have the dynamic opportunity to play a role in being part of this powerful transformation led by the African Revolution and its allies, the oppressed peoples of the world.
This is a call by the African People’s Solidarity Committee, for white people everywhere to recognize our interests in joining the vibrant worldwide transformation to end imperialism and the system of oppressors and the oppressed.
Participate in the APSC International Conference January 6-8, 2013 at the Uhuru House in St. Petersburg, the home of the international headquarters of the African People’s Socialist Party.
Embracing the worldview of the enslaved as our own
The African People’s Solidarity Committee is the organization of white people working in our own communities under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party, which leads the worldwide movement for African liberation, unification and socialism.
The APSC conference offers a unique chance for white people to come together in the presence of African People’s Socialist Party Chairman Omali Yeshitela and other Party leaders.
We can begin to understand the Party’s theory of African Internationalism and embrace this worldview of the enslaved as our own.
We can begin to understand the world as it really is. We can learn, discuss, question and get organized as messengers of anti-colonial revolution inside the belly of the beast where imperialism’s stolen resources are amassed.
African Internationalism is political theory not just to interpret the world but to change it.
Ending our isolation from the rest of humanity
Chairman Omali Yeshitela wrote in his book, A New Beginning: the Road to Black Freedom and Socialism:
“Living in a country built and sustained off slavery, colonialism and neocolonialism, the impact of victorious revolutionary struggles reach down into the gas tanks, shopping centers and tax brackets of the North American population. There is an objective relationship between world slavery and U.S. affluence, and up until now the North American population, opportunistically and demagogically led by their stomachs, pocketbooks, and corrupt leadership have chosen the continued enslavement of the world.”
The existence of the African People’s Solidarity Committee under the leadership of the Party lets us abandon our historic opportunism and brutal complicity with our own rulers through a strategic political relationship to the African Revolution and its allies around the world.
In “Get off your lily white asses!” from Omali Yeshitela Speaks, the Chairman stated:
“…My objective is to make African people free, to win a revolution, to destroy imperialism so that it cannot impose its will on oppressed peoples around the world.”
In the same piece he also asked:
“…When will you [white people] be able to recognize your own humanity? When will you be connected to the rest of the world instead of some white conception that was created for the exact purpose of separating you, and using you as tools to be used against the rest of us?
“…It is important for you to take this stand, because it’s necessary for white people to end your isolation from the rest of us and join us in this process.”
