Below is the official program of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement’s national convention, “Occupy Imperialism: Crisis, Resistance, Solidarity” on June 9th and 10th, 2012 in Philadelphia, PA.

Take the Pledge of Solidarity!  These statements will be read during a special section of the program of this convention.  Add your voice to those in solidarity with liberation for African and oppressed people!

DAY 1:

10:05 am – Opening: “Uhuru Solidarity Movement: Reparations in Action” – Stephanie Midler, USM National Chair

10:20 am – “Uhuru Solidarity in Action: Reports from USM Organizers”

10:50 am – Solidarity Statement from Marcos Garcia, Labor Attache of Venezuelan Embassy

10:55 am – John Morrison of Liberation Art and Culture Works

11:00 am – “Occupy Imperialism! Solidarity with African Revolution!”– Penny Hess, Chair of African People’s Solidarity Committee

12:10 pm – “Obama’s wars in the Middle East and Africa” – Glen Ford, Black Agenda Report

12:40 pm – Lunch

1:25 pm – Tina, Philly’s Own Soulful Singer

1:35 pm – Keynote Speaker: Chairman Omali Yeshitela, Founder and Leader of the Uhuru Movement, Chairman of the African Socialist International

2:50 pm – “Solidarity, Not Charity: Reparations Workshop”

3:50 pm – “The US Government Has Killed 1000 Trayvon Martins” – Panel Discussion: Speakers: Ayesha Fleary of the African People’s Socialist Party, Jesse Nevel of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement.

4:20 pm – “Take the Pledge of Solidarity with African People!”
